VROOMTRACK – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

Last Updated: May 2026

Driver Development. Not a Trackday.

 1. PROGRAMME & BOOKING

How do I join a VroomTrack event?

VroomTrack operates on an invite-only basis. Invited drivers may apply through the secure Participant Portal at vroomtrack.com. Places are confirmed once onboarding and payment have been completed.

Can I transfer my place to someone else?

Yes — places may be transferred free of charge at any time before the event.

What is your cancellation policy?

• 30+ days before the event: full credit or transfer

• 14–30 days before the event: credit note only (valid for 12 months)

• Under 14 days: credit note only if the place is successfully resold

No cash refunds are offered.

In the event of cancellation by VroomTrack or the circuit venue, participants will receive a full credit or transfer to a future event.

 2. COACHING & INSTRUCTION

What coaching is included?

Every participant receives 90 minutes of structured coaching as standard.

This includes:

• A short group familiarisation session to satisfy circuit operational requirements

• Followed by 70–75 minutes of real-time in-car coaching with your dedicated instructor riding shotgun in your own car

Drivers receive personalised feedback on:

• Racing lines

• Braking technique

• Throttle application

• Overtaking etiquette

• Vehicle balance

• Circuit awareness

Who leads the instruction?

The programme is led by Michael Lyons and supported by a team of ARDS Grade A instructors, delivering a genuine 1:4–1:5 instructor-to-driver ratio.

Can I book additional coaching?

Yes. Additional one-to-one coaching sessions may be available depending on the event format and schedule.

 3. EVENT FORMAT

How are drivers grouped?

Drivers are placed into fixed groups of five and remain paired with the same instructor throughout the day. This creates continuity, familiarity and more personalised development.

What is the maximum number of cars?

Events are limited to 25 cars — low numbers by design.

Are events open pit lane?

Yes. All VroomTrack programmes operate open pit lane format.

 4. LICENSING, AGE & EXPERIENCE

What licence do I need?

Participants must hold a full, valid driving licence recognised by the hosting circuit.

What is the minimum age?

Typically 17+, subject to circuit regulations and approval.

Do I need previous track experience?

Most participants are experienced drivers and enthusiasts, though coaching is tailored individually to driver experience and confidence levels.

 5. SAFETY, BRIEFINGS & SIGN-ON

Is the safety briefing mandatory?

Yes.

Most briefing requirements are completed digitally in advance through the secure Participant Portal, including:

• Driver briefing video

• Regulations and waivers

• Medical declaration

• Knowledge check

• E-signatures

On arrival, drivers present their digital certificate via QR code for a short live recap before receiving their wristband and track access.

No briefing = no track access.

What documents will I need to sign?

• VroomTrack programme agreement and waiver

• Circuit indemnity forms

• Passenger or media consent forms where applicable

What happens in the event of a red flag or circuit stoppage?

If circuit activity is stopped by race control or circuit officials, all drivers must return safely to the pit lane and follow marshal instructions immediately. Programme timings may be adjusted accordingly.

 6. VEHICLES & TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

What type of car is suitable?

Road and circuit-focused performance cars are welcome, provided they are mechanically sound and comply with circuit noise regulations.

Minimum requirements include:

• Good brakes and tyres

• No fluid leaks

• Secure battery

• All loose items removed

• Tow hooks strongly recommended

Multiple vehicles per driver may be permitted if each vehicle meets the required standards.

What are the overtaking rules?

Overtaking rules vary slightly by circuit and conditions but are always briefing-led and controlled. Respect between drivers is fundamental to the programme.

Aggressive or dangerous driving will not be tolerated.

What about noise limits?

All vehicles must comply with the venue’s static and drive-by noise limits. Limits are listed on each individual event page.

What happens if my car fails noise testing?

Vehicles exceeding circuit noise limits may be refused access by the venue. Entry fees remain non-refundable in these circumstances.

 7. HOSPITALITY & EXPERIENCE

What is included away from the circuit?

Each event includes:

• Exclusive use of a private hospitality suite

• Full-day gourmet catering

• Breakfast, lunch and refreshments

• Professional photography

• A personalised driver highlight reel following the event

Every aspect of the programme is designed to create a calm, focused and professionally managed environment.

 8. PHOTOGRAPHY & CAMERAS

Are onboard cameras allowed?

Yes, provided they are securely mounted and tethered in accordance with circuit regulations. Unsafe mounting systems will be removed by officials.

Will I receive photos and video?

Yes. Professional media coverage is included at every event, with edited photography and personalised highlights delivered after the programme.

 9. INSURANCE & LIABILITY

Do I need trackday insurance?

Trackday or motorsport insurance is not mandatory, though it is strongly recommended. All participants drive entirely at their own risk.

Who is responsible for damage?

Drivers remain responsible for their own vehicle and any damage caused to circuit infrastructure, barriers or equipment.

10. GENERAL

Do events run in bad weather?

Yes, unless the circuit venue deems conditions unsafe.

Are passengers allowed?

Yes. Passengers must sign on, attend the briefing, wear an approved helmet and comply with venue age requirements.

Are children or pets permitted?

Children are permitted within hospitality and supervised paddock areas only.

Pets are not permitted within operational areas of the venue.
